Avenue Invest Berhad (“AvIB”), a member of the ECM Libra Avenue Group, has obtained approval from the Securities Commission (“SC”) on 23 January 2007 to increase the fund size of its Avenue TacticalEXTRA Fund (“ATEF”) to 500 million units. ATEF, one of the ten (10) unit trust funds managed by AvIB, is a Fund which adopts a dynamic asset allocation approach according to prevailing market condition. In a bullish market, the Fund will invest in portfolio of equities in large-cap companies whilst in periods of market volatility, the Fund will shift into fixed income investments. The Fund aims to generate medium to long term capital appreciation through actively shifting the asset mix based on the changing expectations of the market.

AvIB said “The application to increase the fund size is mainly attributed to the strong interest for the Fund. The Fund has been performing well and the increase in the fund size is a reflection that our investors have great faith in the expertise of our Fund Managers. Apart from this, it is also an indication that there is a growing acceptance by our investors on the concept of active management by dynamic asset allocation based on changing market expectations in order to reap better returns.”

The Company added “Currently, the Fund is one of the leaders in the same category under the Lipper performance analysis. According to the Lipper Fund Table for period ended 12 January 2007, ATEF generated a one-year return of 32% surpassing the industry average of 22.88% for the same period.”
